Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitarist as well as a music producer. She is also the first and youngest woman to receive the British House of Commons Award. While still at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. She was the youngest and sole female winner of the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament for her artistry and musicianship as an outstanding musician from in the Asian Arts.
