Ashanti Douglas, popularly called Ashanti and was born in Glen Cove New York United States on October 13th 1980. She is a singer and actress of her native United States. Ashanti started her career when she was a teenager she was signed by Murder Inc. Records by 2002. Ashanti was featured in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's song, Always on Time and Fat Joe's What's Luv? The first female artist to hold the first and second spots within the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at number one and Luv? at number two. Luv? She became the first female artist to hold the top two spots on Billboard Hot 100 in America With Foolish as number one and the other being What's Loving? Let's celebrate this momentous occasion by celebrating it together. Ashanti Shequoiya, more popularly known as Ashanti, is a New Yorker born in Glen Cove on 13 October, 1980. Tina Douglas was her mother and Ken Kaide Thomas Douglas had earlier performed as a vocalist. Kenashia Tia Douglas is younger. Douglas chose the name Ashanti Shia Douglas in honor of the Ashanti Empire of Ghana in which women were influential and powerful. Douglas wanted Ashantis to adopt this model. James' grandfather was associated with Martin Luther King Jr. as a civil right activist in the 1960s. The Ashanti's mother discovered her talent after hearing her sing Mary J. Blige Reminisce. Ashanti was a child actor in Spike Lee's Malcolm X and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? Ashanti has also been featured in a couple of music videos, such as K.R.S. - Act One's "MC's are like they don't understand" as well as the 8-Off Ghetto girl. After being approached by several label labels, including Bad Boy and Jive Ashanti had a difficult time gaining success as a singer. Ashanti continued to sing in New York, and she was spotted in with the Murder Inc. studios hoping for a breakthrough. Ashanti initially appeared in the role of background vocalist for Big Pun on the song "How We Roll". She also appeared on Fat Joe's What's Luv? She was also on the Fat Joe's What's Luv? The track she used for her debut single Foolish is from DeBarge's Stay with Me which was released in 1983. Her self-titled album first released in 2002 on Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration The fourth studio album was released 3 June 2008. Hey Baby (After The Club) was released on radios as well as digital platforms on the 16th of October.
