Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of youthful heartache earned her widespread recognition in the beginning of the 20th century. Swift was a fan of music from an early stage of her life. Swift quickly rose up the ranks, beginning with roles in children's theater and eventually performing in front of a huge crowd. When Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner in front of the Philadelphia 76ers at a game when she was 11 she had already begun writing songs. The next year she began playing guitar. Swift got the inspiration to create her own music by the music of country genre, such as Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. Swift's parents moved her to Tennessee at 13 after selling their Pennsylvania farm. It allowed Swift to be more active in courting labels for the country genre in Nashville.
