Amanda Brugel
(February 27 2010 (February 27 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a small community that lies on this part of the island of Montreal known as"the West Island. A lot of people who aren't aware of the name mistakenly believe that they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. However this is not the case. West Island includes everything westward of the city of Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there although her time within the city was brief. Brugel lived in Courtice near Oshawa Ontario. The first goal she had was to be a professional dancer. However, a growth spurt meant that she literally outgrew her dance partners. She admitted in an article that was published in The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall while wearing heels. After I outgrew the males in my group, I decided to quit. The former dancers usually turn into acting and Brugel was not an exception. The drama instructor at her high school pushed Bruce in the direction she wanted to go in. Her teacher recommended her to audition for the role of Anne in their annual school production. A teacher suggested that she take on a part in the annual school production. The show was a recipient of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to study at York University's theatre Program which she completed from the program in 2000, earning a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Over the past 20 years, Brugel's career has seen her appear in over 60 films and television productions. Her most notable role was the one of Rita (shown here) in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian in the Season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and only seen occasionally was the only Canadian.
